Before you order new turf grass and sod supplies:
Measure your lawn to see how much grass is needed
Select what type of grass that is best suited for your lawn. Centipede grass best in sunny areas and St. Augustine thrives in both sunny and shade yards.
Does your lawn need new topsoil, need to be leveled, or the ground tilled.
Does your lawn need irrigation to water the freshly laid grass, if so call an irrigation specialist to check to see if all the freshly laid turf is covered by the sprinkler system.

What is needed for lawn renovation

2. topsoil – the soil is usually rich and black fresh topsoil helps give new turf a strong foundation
3. compost – add this to the topsoil and it will give the new grass more nutrients
4. insecticide – will keep worms and other bugs from feeding on the new lawn
5. fungicide – this will protect the sod from fungicides that may arise from watering in the new lawn
